Imagine Dragons Release Video For “Demons”
Imagine Dragons are excited to have finally released the video for their song “Demons” today, May 7th. Directed by Isaac Halasima, the video was shot during the band’s first headlining tour in their hometown of Las Vegas at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The band is kicking off their summer tour tonight in Charlotte at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. The video is dedicated to Tyler Robinson. “Our friend Tyler Robinson, who had been fighting cancer for a few years, passed away unexpectedly while we were editing the video. He was only 17 years old and his courage was an inspiration to all of us. Forming the Tyler Robinson Foundation with his family was a way for us to honor his legacy by doing something positive - donations to the Foundation will help families who are unable to afford cancer care for their children.” Donations can be made HERE! Interview with Kev of Royal Kulture!
Kev of Royal Kulture is a Queens Native looking to express what he feels and some of his real life experiences through his music. I was lucky enough to be able to ask Kev a couple of questions, and I’m really excited to be able to share this interview with you guys!
To start things off, could you introduce yourself and tell us a little bit more about how you got into making music?
My name is Kev and I’m a recording artist & songwriter from Queens, New York. I am the son of a Nigerian father who suddenly passed away due to cancer in Sept 2012. The sudden events had propelled me to take my tragedy and turn it into a positive, hopefully inspiring others in the process. I’ve been writing music all my life but never really had a real reason or inspiration to share my story until the unfortunate events that I went through. So really I’ve only been putting my music out for about 6 months
So you recently released your new song titled, “Up & Up” how has the reception from your fans been regarding this song?
Yea, my new single “Up & Up” officially dropped on my father’s birthday (Apr 5th). The reception has been good from the fans so far, they really like the substance I have to offer and the creativity I brought to the visual aspect of the video, which was directed by me and co-directed by a friend name Kyle Bailey. So, yea the fans are kinda digging what I have to say and show. I’m grateful for that.
Are there any artists in particular that inspire you to make the music you make?
Artist like Wale, Drake, Frank Ocean inspire me to get more in touch with listeners on a personal level. But I am also inspired by the greats such as A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, The Fugees, and Nas.
Do you plan on touring any time in the near future to help spread the word of your music?
Yea, I do plan on embarking on a regional tour before the year ends. Right now I’m just doing a lot of local shows and building my buzz organically in the tri-state area. Interacting with the fans is a must for me and my team and thats the only true way to spread the movement and the music.
Do you foresee yourself making some more new music in the near future?
For sure, I see myself making a lot of new music in the future. As an artist and songwriting for a young female talent under the Royal Kulture umbrella. But for new fans can check out a freestyle I dropped 4/24 @ 9pm entitled “Rise Of The Kulture” on my sound cloud page.
& Before we wrap things all up, is there anything you would like to tell your fans and listeners out there?
All I would like to say to the fans and listeners is to stay true to yourself and embrace what makes you, you. Knowing your kulture and roots is a big part of that. So just embrace where you from and remember we are all ONE!
Big thanks to Kev! I definitely recommend checking out his music. HERE is a link to Kev’s youtube page where you can check out the videos for some of his songs!
